I love that Lola Tung is narrating this story! I was planning on reading the 2nd and 3rd book, but I enjoyed her reading so much I decided to listen to those books as well.

Die Sprecherin fand ich zuerst ziemlich irritierend mit ihrem ständigen Lächeln und die Geschichte war mir etwas langatmig und zäh. Mit der Zeit habe ich mich aber rein gehört und mich dabei auch wieder etwas an meine eigene Teenager-Zeit zurück erinnert. Alles in allem eine nette und teils berührende Geschichte. Und auch die authentische Art der Sprecherin hat mir zuletzt gut gefallen.

This book is quite entertaining and easy to listen to. The basic idea of ​​the story and the characters are well thought out, but not extensively elaborated on. Unimportant events are discussed at length and in detail, while important and interesting scenes hardly find the space they could take up. The ending is ambigugous and leaves you hanging. This book is not a "must read" but it's honest in its portrayal of relationships and interfamilial communication.

I am far away from my teenage years but I loved hearing this book. The story is a bit like these teenage films in the early 2000s, didn't catch me that much - BUT Lola Tungs voice is so great. I felt like I was watching, loved hearing her telling the story. Grinning, half laughing, angry. Altgough my english isn't too good, I understood every word. Think, Lola Tung should read many more Audiobooks.

I listened to a lot of crime stories in my mother tongue before this one and it needed a bit to get into it, but I really liked listening to the speaker and floated back to my own teenage summers, crushes etc. I could relate and wonder what Belly and Conrad are up to…. ;-)
