I absolutely loved this series about four sisters (of the heart, as they say), who escape poverty through one desperate act that has an unexpected outcome. Narrator Alison Larkin is superb. I had my doubts at first, I thought har voice was too high pitched- but how wrong I was. Anne Gracie created wonderful characters and every one of them came alive in Alison Larkin’s rendition. Lady Beatrice becomes such a believable person that I was enthralled. Daisy the cheeky little cockney is also wonderfully convincing and the accent perfect. I’m sorry I can’t review each book because Audible says the first three aren’t recorded yet, I think the website needs updating. Anyway - listen to the series from The Autumn Bride onwards, you won’t regret it!
