Herrlich viktorianisch düstere Krimireihe

Geschichte und Charaktere sind unterhaltsam. Der Sprecher ist gut; ich brauchte allerdings einige Pausen, weil mir das laute Schottisch irgendwann in den Ohren weh tat.
Freue mich auf den zweiten Band.

Dies ist eine sehr gut geschriebenes und hervorragend gelesenes Buch.
Die Charaktere sind sehr gut erzählt die Geschichte sehr spannend und trotz allem mit lustigen Elementen versehen.
Absolut empfehlenswert!

Decent period crime novel. Not the best detective duo story ever, as the characters still need to be flashed out further, but promising as a series nonetheless. Beware of the scottish accent, which makes the audiobook in my opinion but can be tricky. Good read for all those who enjoy Agatha Christy, Conan Doyle or the Akunin books.

The Frey & McGray series is excellent and it gets better with each new title. It spoiled me for many other mystery series. There are great characters and the stories are interesting, unpredictable and thrilling - plus really good humour. And Andy Secombe's performance only enhances those parts. I can't wait for the next book, and the one after that and many more

und eine schöne Zurückversetzung in frühere Zeiten. Der englische Sprecher macht seine Sache sehr gut, der schottische Akzent ist zuerst aber sehr heftig, dann hat man sich reingehört. Von der Art zu lesen erinnert er mich an Christian Tramitz bei den Rita Falk Hörbüchern.

Hugely enjoyable. The story is engaging, the characters are well-developed and amusing and the murders are horribly gruesome. This Gothic murder mystery is brilliantly performed by Andy Secombe.

the speaker makes the story interesting. good crime story with a hint of goth. best part is when the Protagonist hit Edinburgh.
