Es dauert ziemlich lange, bis die Geschichte Fahrt aufnimmt. Die Verhöre mit den Mädchen scheinen ewig. Dann zieht die Geschichte doch in Bann, obwohl die Charaktere teilweise zu eindeutig gut oder böse sind.
Sehr häufige Bezugnahme darauf, dass sich Holly und der Polizist schon kennen, wenn man sich daran nicht mehr so genau erinnert, hat man immer das Gefühl, man verpasst Entscheidendes.

the best tana french of all her books maybe especially for women. only the male reader is not good at all and his impersonation of female voices is just horrible - insulting really, which is especially grating considering the story.

I broke off after listening for 1 hour to teenage problems and every variation of the word "f*ck" in every second sentence. That's not my understanding of a good book...sorry.

Don't listen to this book, seriously. I almost couldn't finish it. The crime story is dumb and by the time you get to know who the killer is, you don't even care anymore. Weird side-story with magic and witchcraft, that doesn't have anything to do with the actual crime. Also the person who wrote this must be a Christian fundamentalist or something, because the moral of this book is that if you (as a young woman) have sex with a guy, you will loose your magic powers and friends and you will have to kill the guy in the end. But with a blunt object, because your witchcraft will be gone.
I've heard so many good things about this Autor but I'm fiercely disappointed. This is no doubt the worst book I've listened to on Audible so far. Maybe I'll give Tana French another chance one day, but this story is very bad. At least the writing is rich and beautiful.
