I really wish we got different POVs in this book, because I had a lot of issues with Celie’s arc. She spends most of the story whining, and while her character is supposed to be about becoming stronger and fighting back, the narrative doesn’t support that arc at all. No matter what she does, she ends up needing to be rescued every single time. She keeps rushing into danger without thinking and almost dies again and again.
