Yes, perhaps you have to get used to the author and speaker‘s voice, but it doesn’t take long. She is telling her story and with it you hear and understand those feelings of grit determination and perseverance, as well as love, loss and humour!
I loved how she wrote and it’s well worth a listen! If you like hiking, then that’s just an added bonus.
It definitely makes you think about unanswered questions you may have and certainly makes you realise how close you can be to losing what you have…

die Geschichte selbst finde ich sehr hörenswert, leider bin ich persönlich nicht mit der Stimme warm geworden, da sie mir überwiegend zu monoton war

Excellent book . Totally admire Ray and Moth's stamina and grim determination to keep moving forwards. Beautiful writing which weaves their story, view of the natural world and a pinch of political comment into a seamless whole.

The style of writing makes the story sometimes a bit tedious. The story concept about homelessness was interesting.

Such a good book. It took me a while to get into it or to get used to the voice. But then I couldn't stop listening.
I've walked parts of the SWCP myself and recognized places and situations. It makes me look forward to walking there again, most probably listening to this again...
But it's so much more than a book about hiking. It's heart touching, encouraging and inspirational... about people and life and never giving up no matter what...

Eine tolle Geschichte, echt und ungeschönt, ehrlich und berührend. Man lebt und leidet mit und hofft. Auf kein Ende, auf ein gutes Ende... Am Ende fällt es schwer, die beiden am Ende ihres Weges ziehen zu lassen, ohne zu wissen, wie es nun wirklich endet. Ein wenig traurig ist man dann schon. Ich habe den Salt Path gerochen, während Raynors Stimme in meinen Ohren erklang...

Great Story, would be better, if read by Professional

Ich dachte ich schaue mal über meinen Tellerrand hinaus und höre ein ganz anderes Buch als sonst, da eine Freundin dieses Buch las.
Nun obwohl die die Autorin das Buch selbst vertonte war es doch sehr monoton und man konnte sehr oft die einzelnen Personen nicht gut auseinander halten.
Die Story ist zwar sehr inspirierend und aufwühlend, aber denn noch etwas langatmig und teilweise tatsächlich langweilig. Was schade ist. Ich denke die Monotonie der Sprecherin war da ein entscheidender Faktor.

Ich bleibe aber am Ball und werde weiter Bücher außerhalb meines sonstigen Dunstkreises probieren. Dafür eignen sich Hörbücher sehr gut, denke ich.
