Simply Outstanding
An exhaustive and cool-headed resource on the machinations inside the Nazi enigma. The many names do drown in the even more events - but this does not matter. The book is engagingly written and very beautifully read. And so one simply stands in awe of the amazing work of piecing together and organizing the sources for this monumental rise and fall tale that seems so incredible had it not really happened.

Rise and Fall of the Third Reich
Sehr gute, wenn auch nicht ganz aktuelle (der Buch ist schon 1960 erschienen) Geschichtsstunde(n) über das Dritte Reich.
Der Sprecher macht einen super Job; angenehm, schnell und dennoch immer leicht verständlich.
Kann ich empfehlen.

Klasse!
Eine sehr gut geschriebene Abhandlung zum dritten Reich. Trotz seiner Länge spannend bis zum Schluss. Klare Empfehlung für alle, die einen Eindruck davon gewinnen möchten, was Nazi-Deutschland bedeutet. Juli 2022.

Brilliant History of the Third Reich
As a German I found this book very fasciniating to listen to. Shirer's views might have been regarded anti-German by some of my compatriots at the time it was published, but his judgement was understandably influenced by his experiences in Nazu Germany and the atrocities committed by Germans during the war.

A book that aged well. Masterfully narrated.
Today, as much as ever, this story needs to be remembered, retold and life saving cues need to be taken from it. Some passages are frightfully similar to what happened in Europe in 2022. Tragic events, in which Germany, of all, took a much too questionable part.
