A heady fictional mixture of absorbing ideas and historical detail
There are little games between the author and the reader, but what makes this novel superior to Eco's recent fictional work, and perhaps even the best novel of the six he has produced, is that he combines a deep seriousness and intrigue of the best fiction. Am relevantesten
I think what the novel lacks is the firm plotline that the Name of the Rose has. Then all the various deviations can be more easily absorbed. The narrator does a flawless job, it must be said. The book has humor at points but gets a bit lost in the web of crime and what occured when and to whom.

Overcomplicated in my opinion
