Über diesen Titel

 Forensic archaeologist Ruth Galloway has excavated a body from the grounds of Norwich Castle, once a prison. The body may be that of Victorian murderess Jemima Green. Called Mother Hook for her claw-like hand, Jemima was hanged for the murder of five children.

DCI Harry Nelson has no time for long-ago killers. Investigating the case of three infants found dead, one after the other, in their King's Lynn home, he's convinced that their mother is responsible.

Then a child goes missing. Could the abduction be linked to the long-dead Mother Hook? Ruth is pulled into the case, and back towards Nelson.

Once again:
Clare Corbett seems to specialize in putting listeners off an audiobook.
Who the hell speaks like the way she impersonates men? And which Irishman (Cathbad) talks like a sleepy Brit??? Has she even understood that a Limerickman is from Ireland?
Ruth comes across like a boring old lady.
The story itself is amazing as are all ofElly Griffith's books.

Was wäre für andere Hörer sonst noch hilfreich zu wissen, um das Hörbuch richtig einschätzen zu können?

Wer Spaß an gemütlichen Krimis hat, kommt hier auf seine Kosten. Die Stimmung ist cozy und man begleitet Ruth bei ihrem neuen Abenteuer durch Norfolk. Am meisten hat mich die Sprecherin begeistert. Spätestens als ich hörte wie sie Ruth's Tochter ihre Stimme lieh, hat sie mich erobert. Das muss man gehört haben - grandios.

Die Männerstimmen sind Welten besser als in Fall 5, die Kinderstimmen fantastisch gelesen. Und die "normale" Lesestimme angenehm.

This novel in the Dr Galloway series is better than the one before but it's still not my favourite. It seems there always has to be someone, some characters, coming in from outside to make the story more interesting. that's not a very good sign for a functioning story
