Great, but the end ??

The story was well written and well read, I usually don't like scary books, so I was bit apprehensive at first but while there are some suspenseful moments, it's not overly scary. I liked the characters, and especially how the story progressed and build, but am still confused about the end. No spoilers, I will not say what exactly happened, only that I don't feel satisfied because so much is still unanswered, and I find it weird how it turned out in the end.
