The kidnapping of a young man on a country road in Oxfordshire is but the first brutal step in a ruthless plan to force the President of the United States out of office. If it succeeds, he will be psychologically and emotionally destroyed. Only one man can stop it - Quinn, the world's foremost Negotiator, who must bargain for the life of an innocent man, unaware that ransom was never the kidnapper's real objective...

The Negotiator unfolds with the spellbinding excitement, unceasing surprise and riveting detail that are the hallmarks of Frederick Forsyth, the master storyteller.

... the listener is bein' taken into a very interesting plot, so to speak.
quite a story.

after a slow and bit boring start

Was wäre für andere Hörer sonst noch hilfreich zu wissen, um das Hörbuch richtig einschätzen zu können?

It really takes a long time for the story to finally get rolling. The first third of the book could have been cut short substantially, in my opinion. But after "The Negotiator" enters the storyline, it becomes quite enjoyable.

I'm glad that I eventually picked up listening again, after I've already filed this book under "not worth the time" because of the horribly boring start.

Takes quite a while to get going

implausible without cold war experience. with it: very nice and entertaining. good language - English not American.

Geschichte aus dem kalten Krieg

Female protagonist depicted as a Bond girl of the sixties, that was really annoying for me.
Our hero is dealing with the top intelligence and criminal mind of the world, but 90% of them behave like stupids who haven't seen a police movie ever. Exceptionally dumb was all the management of the kidnapping by the Americans.
