THE PAST

Discovering who Brother Dominic once was only makes the picture more puzzling. He was a much-loved and respected friend, brother, son—he had no enemies. Or, at least, none that are obvious. But looking into his past reveals that he was a very wealthy man, that he sacrificed it all for his faith. For a man who has nothing, it seems strange that greed could be the motive for his murder. But greed is a sin after all . . .

The fact that D.S. Cross has Asperger's syndrome means that he has no social skills and has difficulty interpreting the beviour of other people. He is infuriating to those who have to work with him and baffling to the criminals he has to deal with, but his doggedness and insights create results. And just when you think the case has been wrapped up, there is a cunning twist!

An expertly-crafted crime story

I enjoyed the first three books. Now it's just same old, same old. The same wording ( the auther seems to have his favourite phrases and words. hearing them 10 time in one sitting is nor particularly stimulating), simular "twists". for me, it's time to move on
