I enjoyed both the story and the narration.

The mystery was super intriguing and kept me guessing what the hell was going on and who could be trusted. Also, I had a lot of fun experiencing the disorienting time jumps alongside Rose.

I liked the writing, it is beautiful and effective, while not drawing too much attention to itself. The way that the author writes character's inner thoughts felt very authentic. And the weird magical side of the world that unfolds throughout the story was grounded and therefore felt real or vaguely possible - which is exactly what I love in my fantasy.

Where the book didn't quite fit my taste is the end which is a lot more supernatural than I like, personally. But that's obviously subjective.

It took me some time to to get into it at the beginning because of the many changes in perspective - harder to follow in an audiobook, in particularly when the narrator doesn’t change her voice to give the characters more personality. But I liked the story and its interesting twists and turns. Good fantasy.
