Das Buch ist gut geschrieben, atmosphärisch und ähnlich detailverliebt wie "Goldfinch" und "Secret History". Der Handlungsfaden ist allerdings dünn, verliert sich immer wieder im Anekdotischen. Die Geschichte plätschert vor sich hin ohne mitzureißen.

Nachdem ich Goldfinch und Secret History förmlich verschlungen habe, war dieses Hörbuch ein wenig enttäuschend, aber durchaus hörenswert.. es kann nicht immer ein Bestseller sein.

Ein Roman der Fahrt aufnimmt wie ein Thriller. Eine bestürzende Familiengeschichte, die atmosphärisch von dunklen Schatten umwabbert wird. Besonders gelungen sind der Autorin die Perspektivwechsel der einzelnen Protagonisten. Glaubwürdig umgesetzt und emotional für den Leser nachvollziehbar. Im ein oder anderem Kapitel musste ich sehr schwer schlucken.
