Über diesen Titel

The Last Letter is a haunting, heartbreaking and ultimately inspirational love story.“ (InTouch Weekly)

Beckett,

If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have.

I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride.

My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. It’s not fair.

And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart. She’s going to need help.

So if I’m gone, that means I can’t be there for Ella. I can’t help them through this. But you can. So I’m begging you, as my best friend, go take care of my sister, my family.

Please don’t make her go through it alone.

Ryan

I cried so much, it broke my heart. I almost don't reccommend it because it will have you questioning everything. But seriously it's a must read.

It is so heart wrenching

Eine unglaublich traurige und zugleich schöne Geschichte - krasse Themen aber seine Zeit auf jeden Fall wert.

Wahnsinnig emotional!

Narrated by Teddy Hamilton & Jennifer Stark

I am honestly speechless. I don’t even know where to begin. This book was heartbreakingly beautiful — and devastating. Rebecca Yarros’ writing is so incredibly special; she makes you feel everything. Excitement, sadness, grief, hope, anger, love… it’s all there, raw and overwhelming in the best way.

Her slow burns always wreck me, but this one? It utterly broke me. The amount of loss in these pages is almost unbearable. Up until 90% I kept thinking, How can one person endure this much? You think the HEA is finally within reach and then—bam. I won’t spoil anything, but just… brace yourself.

Beckett was everything. I adored him. Deep, layered, loyal, patient, loving. A steady presence that hits you right in the chest. And combined with Havoc? Absolutely beautiful — and honestly, sexy in the most wholesome, unexpected way.

Ella is a fierce mama bear through and through. Life keeps dealing her blow after blow, yet she refuses to break. She’s mature beyond her twenty-five years, an old soul carrying too much, and you root for her from the very start.

That said, I did feel that the reason behind their breakup was a bit exaggerated. Beckett lied by omission, yes — but for good reasons, and by then he had proven himself to be the most reliable person in her life. He uprooted everything — his job, his routine, his entire sense of normalcy — for Ella and her children, purely because of a promise. He saved them in more ways than I can say without spoiling. For all he had done, Ella’s reaction felt too harsh, and her lack of trust in him was honestly heartbreaking. The groveling arc dragged a bit longer than I prefer, especially considering how deeply he had already shown his devotion.

The twins were also standout characters — six years old going on sixteen, full of charm and personality.

My only struggle with the book was the sheer volume of loss and tragedy, especially toward the end. It felt like just a bit too overwhelming. I wanted a moment to breathe, to finally watch their relationship unfurl without another emotional earthquake — but again, no spoilers.

Narration

Teddy Hamilton is always a no-brainer for me. If he’s narrating, I’m listening — guaranteed. And this was one of his strongest performances. He brings a grounded seriousness that fits this story perfectly.

Jennifer Stark was equally phenomenal. Her delivery captured every emotion — grief, fear, longing, strength — and together they elevated the entire experience. Their pacing, chemistry, and balance were spot-on.

Spice Level: 1.5/5 (very mild; the emotional intensity far outweighs the heat)
Heavy to digest even though there is a HEA. Please check the TWs before diving in.

Heartbreakingly beautiful with a top notch narration experience

As a mom of two, this was so hard for me that it makes me think God things can change in a few hours or a minute or even a second and that you can lose someone you love the most. I'm happy they got together, married, and had more kids. Happy ending, but still sad.

Sad and happy moments
