The Earth lies in ruins in the aftermath of an extraterrestrial invasion, the land devastated by a desperate war with no winners between mankind and a race of vicious, intelligent creatures. The seas are drying up while the atmosphere corrodes and slowly cooks any life remaining on the now desolate rock. Food is scarce, trust even more so, and the only people left alive all have done horrific things to stay that way.
Among the few survivors is Lucas, an ordinary man hardened by the last few years after the world's end. He's fought off bandits, murderers, and stranded creatures on his long trek across the country in search of his family, the one thing that drives him to outlive his dying planet. What he finds instead is hope, something thought to be lost in the world. There's a ship buried in a crater wall. One of theirs. One that works. To fly it, Lucas must join forces with a traitorous alien scientist and a captured, merciless raider named Asha. But unless they find common ground, all will die, stranded on a ruined Earth.
Combining gritty post-apocalyptic survival and epic space opera, The Last Exodus is the beginning of a new action-packed science fiction adventure where the future of the human race depends on its survivors leaving the past behind.

Too predictable
The lack of plot surprises led me to abandon the book halfway through. The performance was OK.

Weird dystopia. With even weird logic...
I liked the start.
Tought it would be about how he forced the alien to coperate. Save earth.
Or something of the like.
Earth's already death ... or on it's last thwitches.
Everyone is either a cannibal, death or dieing.
Aliens destroyed everything xD. Why? They wanted ressources .... while there's like more stuff in the belts and co or just in other systems. Why bother with war .... if it's not religion or politics based...
The author clearly has no clue about the universe xD.
And then the interactions of the 3 MC ....
They are close to killing each other in a way.
But they somehow got along?
And the last woman alive is the one who shot him right at the start?
Eh?
The whole setup smells like weird drama.
Lots of distrust.
Possible backstabbing.
And even weirder goals... outside of survival.
Gave it a try. Because it's free with the sub on audible.
Not my kind of beer.
More of an coffee break short story kinda level.
But the voice actor is doing well.

I am so sick of deliberately serialized novels
The book has hardly any original ideas (dooms day earth, among alliens the ones from earth are somehow special and mankind is spread in variations among the galaxy...) nor is the plot truly suspenseful (just enough to keep on listening).Just when the hero is told to tell his story to his saviours, the book ends but of course not this bloated story...
I don't mind series but there's a difference between books within a bigger story that can "stand alone" with their plot and a storyline that needs all books to come to an end, especially if the very story is not of such a dense and vivid type that the tale would merrit such a length...
