The Interdependency cycle in full blossom again. The witful or spiteful or profane characters we all know and love in their sneaky, twisted and sometimes outright crazy musings. Fast and hilarious dialogues included. And Wil Wheaton again perfectly nails it and gives the whole thing the double punch, which makes me even forgive for a somewhat disney-ish ending. But boy, do they deserve it...

Loved it!
The combination of Scalzi and Wheaton is awesome! The only bad aspect: there's not much left of their work for me to listen to.

Tough it out
After the first hour I stopped listening and considered returning this book to audible. And the reason for that: it was an almost uninterrupted surge of profanities and shouting and threats by not-so-nice-people, all of them voiced by Wil Wheaton who thus also was a huge disappointment.
But after a three-months-pause I continued listening. And the story came back on track, re-joined the arc from the first two books and became more and more gripping as it progressed towards the finale. And since quote a lot of other characters reappeared Wil Wheaton´s narrative also achieved its normal/excellent level.
So my advise to listeners: tough it out. In the end this is an intelligent and moving tale. But for those who do not know the first two books yet: get them first, otherwise you will be totally confused.

Ok but somewhat disappointing...
Wil Wheaton is doing great, again! I was really looking forward to this book but, well, how to put it, I was somewhat disappointed with the solution. There were so many possibilities - and in the end I was wondering about the many pages about fictious flow physics...that did not really contribute to the story and the finale...
Ok, in a nutshell: the end of this trilogy is below the capabilities of the author. Like it was written in a hurry. Sorry.

Outstanding work and performance
I love Wheaton performing. And I feel Scalzi's writing to be even more outstanding in this installment.

Einfach nur zu Kurz
Großes Kino, mitreißende Performance, tolles Setting, leichte Kost, einfach gute Unterhaltung. Einziges Negativ ist die fehlende Länge. Das Universum könnte locker noch weitere Bücher vertragen.

Instead of writing an epic story about the handling of society with the collapse the author takes the short cut.

Great finale - Surprising turns
Since it’s only available in English I will write in English too.
Great speaker, suspense in the story line and some totally unexpected turns before the end.
It will be one of books I will listen to again.
Profanities? Yes especially from one character in the book - but there is a backstory to it - it’s their family heritage/ language so didn’t bother me at all, it was authentic.

Stay away, you’ll be thoroughly disappointed
Easily the worst book in the series. By a long shot. The text reads as if Scalzi completely lost interest after the first half. The latter portion of the text reads like a cliffsnotes version of a book that Scalzi had planned to write. There is no discernable story structure, no narrative beats and not even a coherent flow of events. I was completely baffled by how the story just tapers out and the book turns into a set of bullet points strung together by a randomly chosen set of connective phrases. This is not hyperbole. The last 50 pages in particular are nothing more than a joyless description of things that happen, not the engaging narration Scalzi usually manages to deliver. The amazing Wil Wheaton does his best to salvage that train wreck of a book but even he must fail in the end because he has literally nothing to work with. Just plain horrible and a total disappointment for all fans of Scalzi’s other works.
