Inhaltsangabe

Welcome to the long-awaited seventh novel of the best-selling saga by Aleron Kong.
The longest and best book ever recorded by Nick Podehl!

The Land: Founding, Book 1 of the Chaos Seeds Saga, reached number one in the Audible store in 2017!

A mesmerizing tale reminiscent of the wonder of Ready Player One and the adventure of Game of Thrones

Number one in epic fantasy, cyberpunk, and video game fantasy

In The Land: Predators, the Mist Village has harnessed its power. With core buildings, Professional fighters, and now their own Dungeon, the settlement is primed to grow into a kingdom of true power and magic. The path to power has not been without risk, however. The Mist Village has been noticed.

Evil nobles from the Kingdom of Law, bloodthirsty goblins from the Serrated Mountains, an undead lord with a penchant for human sacrifice, and fanatical kobolds from the Depths all plot the village's destruction. The predators are circling. Richter's people are horribly outnumbered by foes whose own power has been entrenched for thousands of years.

Richter and Sion need to be stronger than ever before. Luckily, they are. New skills have been learned, stronger enchantments have been wrought, and the hundreds of villagers have answered the call to adventure. The Companions do not stand alone. While many eyes have turned toward the mists, wanting to take the treasures within, the Mist Village stares back with a simple message.

Come and get it!

Good writing, top storyteller, still lacking depth

Anyone who made it to the seventh book will like how he story continues. It is "more of the same", but in a good way. Nick Podehl is an excellent storyteller - I really love when he voices the dwarfs!

Still I got the feeling that the most of the characters lack some depth. As well as the story. Up to now, there were -sadly- no real surprises. In other Books, I sometimes hold my breath when the protagonist is in trouble. Or one of the partymembers. Not in this series up to this book. The Author tries his best to correct this to some point and does a pretty good job.

Still the last Chapters of the book felt to be pretty much overloaded. Up to a point where I wasn 't sure if the "Luck" of the character is pushed a bit too much. But thats just my impression - just stating that I wasn't too happy, especially with the last three chapters.

Still, I want to know how the story continues. So, I am still hooked. Everyone who enjoyed the first six Books: this is pretty good stuff.

And: As much as they say "Gnomes rule"...... no, Krom rules!!!

It's good, but...

It's just too long. I mean the actual story is not really that long but the book is long due to repetition and artificially elongated stat descriptions. I usually really like LitRPG but once you have listened to armor stats for 5mins... Well it's not why I read a book and if it was a game I'd skim that section too... Also, I'd not read the same item description each time I'd look at an item. But you can't do that with an audiobook. Also the author unnecessarily repeats himself over and over. Stuff that just happened is just repeated. The author unnecessarily repeats himself over and over. Annoying, isn't it? I found myself skipping parts of the book later on because of these two issues.
The last issue I have is that I often thought to myself that I really would get into a fight with Alma if she was my familiar and treated me like she treats Richter... Or I'd ditch her... She is so often too bitchy for me.
All these issues aside, I still liked the book.

If you bought the other 6...

Ya know what to expect and you sure as heck know that it's good. With the exception of not hearing a "you shall not pass" and a disappointing amount of deep space nine references, still the best litrpg out there.
