Gerri Hill manages to combine the two beautifully. The suspense is challenging at times, but the romance helps one through it without getting tacky.
The crimes are truly awful yet they don‘t claim all the room of the story.
This isn‘t just a story, everything is very believable. The characters are developed in a form that they stay with you like real people. Something only a true artist can achieve. Gerri Hill is a very skilled author, and I can recommend every book I have read so far. This one is one of my favorites, although it is VERY hard to choose!

Love story: The autor finds less and less believable reasons while the story goes on for why the protagonists can't be together, until we have the culmination of brain dead in the last hour of the audio book were we listen to 2 ppl lamenting that they can't be together even though there is literally nothing preventing it.
