There’s a general atmosphere of unease at Highwood Hall, from the narrow tunnels laced throughout the sprawling house, to the abandoned north wing, rumoured to be haunted. It’s easy to imagine the secrets hidden within these walls, like the secrets I hold close.
On my first day, I receive a mysterious package. I open up the pretty gift box to find a miniature doll version of me trapped inside a dollhouse. In this scene I’m dead, lying in a pool of red paint at the bottom of the perfectly recreated staircase. Someone sent this threatening diorama to me, but who even knows I work at the hall? And what do they want?
I know only one truth: my perfect job is turning into my perfect nightmare.

Interesting storyline, writing felt unpolished
The storyline was interesting and kept me engaged to the end. It fits well into the genre of thriller. However the writing itself was sloppy and I found the protagonist annoying and often contradicting herself. The narration was good.

I loved it!
It was fast paced, intriguing, and I couldn't stop listening. There were so many well placed twists and turns and the writing so right on point that it wasn't boring whatsoever. Would highly recommend you to choose this audiobook if you're looking for a crime set in old nostalgic mystery paired with modern boldness.

Really liked it
I really liked the writing style. Very lively. However i would have loved the climax to be a bit more detailed. It was over very fast. All in all a good book

Great storyline
Loved every bit of it! The author is very talented the way she described every single detail, makes you go deep into the story and its characters. Close your eyes and you can picture yourself into the main character’s head! You’re on the edge from the 1st. chapter till the last one! Loved the way the narrator told the story, with the different accents. Can’t wait to read another novel from this author. Highly recommended.

Gripping story, great narrator!

Well recommending
This can be by far my new favourite novel. From the beginning to the very end kept me glued to the book, exciting, always new turns very well written and excellently read! I almost felt i am the heroine of the book.!!

Absolutely fantastic! It was nearly impossible to stop listening. An extremely gripping story and ever so well told by the speaker.
I would definetely recommend this book to all my friends and anyone intersted in crime stories.
