the story is quite exciting at first, leaving the listener to suspect about a possible affair and motives. but then there are several illogical incidents, gaps in the plot and the whole secret doesn't really make sense. a bit disappointing.

I read the comments here before, so I knew that large parts of the story are more about family/relationship dynamics. The crime part really just comes in at the end. But with knowing that, I enjoyed the Story very much. In some parts it was a little cheap cliffhanger-style-storytelling. But in general, very entertaining.

Dies ist eine hervorragend gesprochene Geschichte über einen Freundeskreis, den ein Verdacht des Ehebruchs auseinander treibt. Viele der Wendungen habe ich kommen sehen, auch das Ende hat mich überrascht! Aber es passt alles zusammen. Dies wird für mich nicht das letzte Buch der Autorin gewesen sein.

Initially good plot, but ended being pretty boring. A lot of drama about teenagers being teenagers and cheating husbands but no real development. Main character is annoying and other characters underdeveloped.

For a crime scene investigator, the narrator Kate is surprising daft for 90% of the novel. I found myself wondering how she's ever solved a case... A few decent twists, reminded me of Liane Moriarty.

Family/ friend drama, not a thriller

So if you want to listen to this book because it says "3 families one killer" then don't unless you want to go through 8 /9 hours of gullible tension and annoying children first .
Props to the narrator for making me hate all those children. The. Entire. Time. The execution of the story is not as exciting as it sounds.
Even in the final 2 hours where the twists and reveals happen. It is simply too late. The entire book was too underwhelming and slow so whatever twists it has, it has no effect.



Now spoilers ahead!

The main character Kate is low key dim for someone who works in investigating crime scenes. And she is just so soooo slow. She knows things and won't do anything with them. She just sits contemplating almost the entire freaking book. Incredibly indecisive and frustrating.
Her husbands denial the whole book is borderline gaslighting.
All the children are so freaking annoying I can't even start with how badly I hoped that they would dissappear also two of the kids are literally psychos and have an enabling mother and father which is frustrating and horrific. And a girl has a side story I couldn't give a "hoot" about so making the entire "twist" if you can call it that about her is so disappointing. Once again props to the narrator for making me hate all those children. The. Entire. Time.
The kill was disappointing, the victim was the only one who didn't deserve it. I feel like justice wasn't served for so many it's simply not satisfying. The reveal itself was too underwhelming because after 8 hours of nothing I was not even thrilled to find put how it was all put together. I didn't care, I just wanted to finish the book for the sake of well.. Finishing the book.

I'm annoyed

Die Geschichte ist spannend erzählt und jedes Mal, wenn man denkt, man weiß was Sache ist, kommt eine neue Wendung. Ich war bis zum Schluss gefesselt und begeistert von der Auflösung der Story.

I try not to include any spoilers - however, the cover reads „One Killer“ on the cover and I was waiting waiting waiting waiting…. Change the cover and it is a good story (albeit long at times). It is a mistery book but not a killer/murder book. The showdown happens too late
