Die Serie ist dennoch besser
Ich habe erst die Serie gesehen, und dann das Buch gelesen. Das Buch enthält sehr viel weniger Story, als ich bereits kannte, daher empfand ich es als sehr kurz und knapp. Die Serie ist auch einfach mega gut produziert, klare Empfehlung. Wer sie noch nicht gesehen hat, sollte vllt. erst das Buch lesen. Insgesamt ist die Geschichte von Atwood, welche ohnehin meine Lieblingsautorin ist, eine grandios geschriebene Dystopie.

great book. i enjoyed
I saw so much of the present time during the reading of this book. It makes me afraid but conscious, that every balance is on the tip of a needle and can be lost with a single blow.

Wonderful!
Descriptions are so full of small details. it’s easy to identify. Perfectly read! And to understand that nothing is phantasy but everything was already there in history is just horrifying and irritating!

It might happen, cautionary tale
Interesting dystopian novel, stirring in all common basic fears of our ever more upside down society. Masterfully written and great narration.

Top 5 best books I’ve “read”
It’s definitely one of the best books I’ve listened to /read. It’s frightening timeless and relevant right now.
This particular edition read by Claire Danes and with Margaret Atwood’s comments in the end made the book even better.

Masterpiece!
After watching the TV series I felt the urge to reread or rather rehear the original. I don't regret a minute. It is actually a masterpiece of literature.
Clare Danes performs in a humble way. But nevertheless intensive. Absolutely fitting the atmosphere of the story.

Astonishing that so many topics in the book are to relevant. Clare Danes voice is fantastic for Offred.

Faszinierend und beunruhigend
Dieses Hörbuch fand ich vom ersten Moment an sehr spannend und interessant geschrieben. Als Frau stellt sich schnell eine Art von Gänsehaut ein: die beschriebene Welt, in der Frauen unterdrückt und benutzt werden ist so realistisch, dass sich der Gedanke aufdrängt, dass die Autorin über eigene Erfahrung in einem solchen System verfügen muss....
Eine absolute Hörempfehlung auch wegen der tollen Sprecherin, deren Stimme zunächst gewöhnungsbedürftig war für mich, die aber zu jeder Zeit bestens zur Geschichte passt und von Anfang bis Ende sehr authentisch klingt.

Brilliant und Fesselnd
Die dystopische Wellt dieser Geschichte ist fesselnd und weckt andauernd die Frage, warum sie ist, wie sie ist.
Der Schreibstil ist wundbar greifbar. Einerseits erlaubt er den Einblick in die Gedanken und Gefühle der Protagonistin, andererseits ist er präzise und nicht unnötig ausufernd.
Als großer Freund dystopischer Geschichten war dieses Werk eine tolle Erfahrung für mich.
