This was a well-written, beautifully read, succinct, yet rich overview of the mental models that guide (and adulterate) our reasoning. I loved it. Very grateful!

Excellent book

The books introduces the readers to various great principles taken from different disciplines and explain how these principles could be applied by an individual to make his/her life better. Each principle is summarized and not explained into detail. In my opinion to make the best use of these principles one should also read the books mentioned by Shane.

Vom Autor gelesen ist nicht unbedingt etwas gutes. Drehbuchschreiber sind ja auch nicht die besten Schauspieler. Die Informationen sind hilfreich aber die langweilige Art des Sprechers fesselt einen nicht.

I was very interested in the idea of this book, but the terribly monotone and poorly paced reading style made it intolerable to me.

Only absolutely obvious concepts wrapped in many many words - cannot recommend that to anybody with basic thinking skills.

Edit: Just stumbled over a written summary of the book... Concepts stay quite known/obvious, but reading the summary does a decent job to remind you on some of them you might not use often enough. So my opinion is not as harsh now, as it was before. Go for a summary of the book or the book itself but NOT for the audio book.

Shane did a good job compiling all the advice in a book - HOWEVER I don't recommend it as an audio version. I remember more from reading one of his blog posts than from the entire audio book. not worth, too much information you cannot handle as audio book. I'll get it as a Kindle oder paper book.

I'm an eager reader of Farnam Street blog and the content is top notch. Unfortunately, the performance of the author to read his book is bad. It would be better that a more experienced narrator reads this book.
