There's a whiff of Agatha Christie and a dollop of Gone Girl with plenty of blind alleys that we happily wander up and get lost in. Pick it up, solve the crime and pass it on . . .

Ich habe das Buch auf eine Empfehlung hin gehört. Hatte durchaus Vorbehalte: Eine Geschichte aus der Ich-Perspektive von drei mehr oder weniger depressiven Frauen. Hmmm...
Aber die Geschichte hat mich doch relativ schnell gefesselt und ich wollte wirklich wissen, was da nun wie passiert ist. Das Gleichgewicht aus Selbstreflektion und Vorantreiben der Story mit immer wieder neuen Einblicken und Offenbarungen fand ich sehr gelungen. Die Charaktere wurden sehr gut gezeichnet, zumindest empfand ich ihr vielleicht manchmal extremes Handeln sehr nachvollziehbar.
Der Wechsel der drei sehr guten Sprecherin hat da sicherlich viel zu beigetragen und dem ganzen zusätzlich Leben eingehaucht.
Gegen Ende war mir dann doch irgendwann klar, wer es war, aber gut, diesen Spannungsbogen bis zur letzten Sekunde zu halten ohne dann einen Geist aus der Maschine zu zaubern ist ja auch nahezu unmöglich.
Fazit: Spannend und bewegend mit sehr greifbaren Charakteren die einem schnell ans Herz wachsen. Warum keine 5 Sterne? Die sind für weltklasse reserviert, und das war es dann doch nicht;)

this is an amazing audio book!! the book is great but i think its even better when you listen to it - the speakers are incredible. I was in the mind of each woman! Very exciting, very surprising... listened to it everyday on the tube going and coming from work... but also at home, when cooking, in my lunch break. i was done in one week.

Bis auf die letzten 2-3 Std. hat mich das Buch nicht gefesselt und es kam nur sporadisch Spannung auf. Die sehr genaue Beschreibung der Alkoholsucht/Liebeskummer der Protagonistin habe ich als viel zu langatmig und monoton empfunden. Auch ansonsten wurde für meinen Geschmack zu viel Zeit in die, bis ins letzte Detail herausgearbeitete, Beschreibung der Gefühlswelt, der allesamt weiblichen, Charaktere investiert.
Das unerwartete Ende entschädigt für einiges, jedoch würde ich das Buch nicht weiter empfehlen.
