The year is 2375, and the world has been drained of most of its natural resources. In order to preserve their dying planet, the government puts The Digital Life Initiative into action.

Very nice presentation of the classic forced digital life litRPG story.
There are two main plots, the first one being the MCs being forced into a digital form of citizenship in a fantasy world and the second plot being what happens to her in the “real” world.
The real-world plot is only present for about the first third of the book and only plays a minor role at first glance, but it hints at why the MC develops the way she does. The consequences are very subtle but thinking about it a bit and it makes sense.

The overall story in the digital fantasy world is a mix of slice of life and adventure and while a bit slow at first it never gets boring. The comedic scenes and references to fantasy, sci-fi and real life are quite amusing, and I had a lot of good laughs.
In the serious scenes, she can get quite a mad killer, especially towards every woman who is like her stepmother in behaviour and archetype. The MC develops quite a zealous hatred for her stepmother.

The story is interesting, has a lot of humour and an overall good pacing and progression. Together with the on-point narration, I was captivated to hear it in one session.

I can recommend this audiobook fully.

As others already mentioned, the MC suffers from a personality disorder that may seem weird from a outside perspective but readers who know someone affected by one of the many different neurological or psychological problems with similar symptoms will understand quickly. I'm quite sure, the author has some experience first hand in one or the other way.
Let's hope Foxy takes the advice and prays to Celeste or get some other form of help.

Otherwise, the story hits all the gaming and fantasy tropes but with the addition of a really great skill/knowledge system wich keeps happily passive in the background and doesn't distract the flow of the story like we see in many other GameLit/LitRPG books.

The VA does a great job, the first time I listen to something narrated by Rebecca yet and I will gladly wait for the next Book in the series and keep my eyes open for other works from VA and writer.

Nice Story in an interesting Universe

THIS is how LitRPG stuff should be.
No or nearly no useless status stuff.

Just plain adventure and mechanics that just work.

Outside of a few lewd jokes.
Some overly used "Disney Princess and the Bad Mother/Father" basic plot to start it off.
And a few small logic problems where the MC changes her mood and personalties way to drastically.

This is a fine example of a story one can enjoy to listen to, without fallin asleep from boring repettion of useless stuff.

My main grievance (outside the really weak starting plot) is probably that the MC kinda changes personality traits like clothes. Might be just cause she's gotten some fire in her lit, litterally. But other speculations are either story spoilers or plain bad writing. As i can't really decide how her behavior comes to be, outside of "thats funny and probably a nice mini story!" or "fan service of the cuddly kind!".

If anyone enjoys a mostly lighthearthed adventure, this is probably a good one for them.
Just be warned that some really stupid cliches and obvious things happen.
Atleast there's no sex scene each 5 minutes like what i feared first... can't really trust my friends "advice" there anymore xD.

PS: The Voice Actor shows her talents in this one. Rarely hear something from her, duo the nature of most of the works she acts out. Too romancy and haremy for my tastest. Only horny teenagers like those, probably :D.

Has its weaknesses, but quite entertaining.

The story only follows the main character, there's no hopping about between different storylines of different characters. It makes it great for readers who generally don't like it when a book switches to another character when desperately wanted it to continue.

The "technical" RPG elements are kept at minimum. Unlike other books, this one does *not* list every single monster kill and experience increase. Still, the progression of the MC is easily observable by all the new things, recipes, skills she learns and the knowledge she uncovers. Oh, and the number of Kitsune tails she grows, of course. 🦊

The voice acting is exceptional. Rebecca Woods is, in my opinion, on par with Andrea Parsneau reading The Wandering Inn and Emma Gavin reading the Fluff series.

The main character is a snarky, cheeky, ever curious and suuuper smart girl that really comes to life inside one's head with how well the narrator is performing every single chapter. 🥰

... Go get this book, already! 😜

Very promising start of a LitRPG series!

Good story but you have to keep in mind that the main character has some kind of brain damage that is hinted at multiple times. Or you will be pretty annoyed how often she has to be scolded. The story has a promise and I hope that I don't have to wait too get the next book.

Ein guter Start in eine neue Serie. Der Anfang war nicht ganz nach meinem Geschmack aber danach ging es sehr gut weiter. Habe es in unter 36 Std durchgehört.
