Über diesen Titel

"Michael Lesley's upbeat narration captures all the whimsy, humor, and heart of this YA superhero romp...This sweet queer coming-of-age story will please listeners looking for something fun, surprising, and affirming." -- AudioFile Magazine

An Indie Next Pick!

Some people are extraordinary. Some are just extra. TJ Klune's YA debut, The Extraordinaries, is a queer coming-of-age story about a fanboy with ADHD and the heroes he loves.

Nick Bell? Not extraordinary. But being the most popular fanfiction writer in the Extraordinaries fandom is a superpower, right?

After a chance encounter with Shadow Star, Nova City’s mightiest hero (and Nick’s biggest crush), Nick sets out to make himself extraordinary. And he’ll do it with or without the reluctant help of Seth Gray, Nick's best friend (and maybe the love of his life).

Rainbow Rowell's Fangirl meets Marissa Meyer's Renegades in TJ Klune's YA debut.

Tbh this story was so much more than I expected!
First of all I liked the representation, especially of Nick and his ADHD. I personally have no real frame of reference for what it’s like to live with it, but I feel like it gave me an in-depth insight.
Other than that, this book took me on quite rolercoaster ride of emotions (I know, cliche). The adorable cringe of Nick in his interactions with others and the heartbreaking emotional struggles he faces had me listening deep into the night. Of course the magnificent reader Michael Lesley does his part and makes the listening experience unforgettable.
Some of the plotpoints might have been very predictable to everyone but the main character, but that was also part of the charm of the story.
So in a nutshell: a must listen and I can’t wait for the next part!

Wow! Whimsical, ironic, selfaware, hilarious and heartwarming/heartbreaking!

I wasn't sure about the genre and only got this audiobook because I've read another book by the author, but I laughed, I cried and I rooted for Nick...
Reader is good at differenciating voices. I did not like Owen's or his father's though. loved the ridiculous fan-fic voice he did, though xD

surprised by how good it was

That's it. Just an enjoyable book. One of those books where the audiobook is better. Michael Lesley does a phenomenal job.

Just a deeply compassionate and funny book
