i loved this. it had turns and twists and emotions. could not stop listening.

Great Voice, Great Story

Ein Fehler ist aufgetreten. Bitte versuche es in ein paar Minuten noch einmal.
Spoiler free: I like the story and the quasy atypical gender roles (Not in the mening of divers sexualitys but there are no sterotypical weak women and hero males either). Theres an intereseting women as protagonist and a some what atypical male lead whom I gladly would have lerned more about. Charakter development was exiting to. And exactly the right amount of retrospect. Quite simple but not to shallow language in grammar and words easy to understand and enjoyable complex (as far as I can judege as I am no native). I was hooked.

Here comes the catch: As far as the writing and story goes I would gladly have given 4 to 5 stars but the speaker is a dealbreakter for me. She is clear to understand and timbre is pleasing at least in the few moments she isn´t neraly crying. Its the definition of whiny. The hole book comes across as overly dramatic and the strong female lead becomes overly emotionalied beside her role to play wich has more to give. A guess she would be a nice cast for a diffrent kind of book or role but here its diminishing the character of the lead.
