Very gripping till the end. You don’t want to stop it. And Richard, as always, is giving the story exactly the right voice. Goosebumps all over.

Gripping Story

A bit lengthy at times but still worth listening to. About the narrator nothing needs to be said, excellent as usual.
The only weakness is the sometimes quite naive behaviour of the family. It's a little unrealistic at times and considering the situation they're in.
The plot gets foreseeable in the last few chapters, and honestly, the intermittent stories of the former victims don't really help the book along. No idea why they were included, but they don't spoil the storyline either and overall the story is entertaining.

Auch diese Geschichte hat mich wieder total eingefangen. Von dem Moment an, wenn Adam den geheimen Raum im neu bezogenen Traumhaus entdeckt, ist meine Neugierde geweckt und auch mich lässt das Geheimnis um die dort hinterlegten Gegenstände, ihre Besitzer, ihre Geschichte und das was sie an diesem Platz zusammen geführt hat, nicht mehr los. Und wer steckt hinter der Person, die diese Sachen um jeden Preis wiederhaben will? Absolut fesselnd! Und - wie erwartet - hervorragend gelesen von Richard Armitage. Man nimmt ihm den Adam sofort ab. Er schafft es mühelos der Erwartung, Neugier, Angst, Fürsorge und Liebe mit seiner Stimme Ausdruck zu verleihen.
Das lädt zum gleich-noch-einmal-Hören ein!

I really enjoyed this book. Yes, I agree that the main plot is not new, however, I thought that this book is very gripping, tense and difficult to put down. Good characters and very good twist and turns, I very much enjoyed the book.

Faszinierender neuer Thriller von T.M. Logan - eine Meisterleistung! Die vermeintliche Familienidylle mit Eltern, drei Kindern, Katze und Hamster in einer neuen Residenz mit viel Nervenkitzel wird zum äußerst spannenden Ende gebracht. Im Verlauf der Geschichte und beim Verteidigen seiner Familie bezieht der Vater, Adam, ziemlich viel Prügel.
Richard Armitage liest so souverän wie immer, allerdings über weite Strecken in ungewöhnlich tiefer Tonlage, wenig Wiedererkennungseffekt.
Und welche Bedeutung haben alte Gegenstände wie Uhr, Geldbeutel, Hundehalsband und Schal aus einem versteckten Zimmer des neubezogenen Hauses?
