Ich habe vor ca. 25 Jahren das erste "Rad der Zeit" Buch gelesen und seitdem lässt mich die Serie nicht mehr los (mit Ausnahme der Verfilmung durch Amazon, die lässt mich absolut kalt).
Zuerst las ich sie auf Deutsch, dann im Original, habe dann mit den Hörbüchern angefangen und bin dann auf die neuen Hörbücher mit Rosamund Pike als Sprecherin gestoßen.

Und wie unglaublich genial sie das macht. Jede Figur hat ihre eigene Stimme, die fast immer wie die Faust aufs Auge zum jeweiligen Charakter passt.
Ganz besonders gefällt mir die Art wie Mat spricht. Er war schon immer einer meiner absoluten Lieblinge und die Stimme die ihm Pike gibt spiegelt allein durch die Betonung und das Sprachild seinen Charakter wieder. Man hört den Schalk richtig heraus und dieses "ich bin kein Held, ich bin nur an hübschen Mädchen und Gold und meinem persönlichen Wohlbefinden interessiert", das sich doch immer wieder als hauchdünne Fassade herausstellt hinter der ein Kerl steckt auf den man sich zu 100%, verlassen kann, der immer da ist wenn man ihn braucht und der nie ein Versprechen bricht. Alleine schon für Matrim Cauthon gibt es 5 Sterne von mir.

Aber nicht nur die Figuren, sondern jede Nation und jede Volksgruppe erhalten ihren eigenen Akzent, ihre eigene Aussprache.
Sogar jedes Lied, und wenn es nur zur Unterhaltung in einer Taverne gesungen wird, wird tatsächlich von Pike gesungen, und das ganz und gar nicht schlecht.

Für jeden RdZ Fan ein absolutes Muss.
