kurzweillig und gut verständlich, leider etwas vorhersehbar. Wer schon mehrere Schottland-Krimis kennt, wir auch hier viele Parallelen finden (Täter, Ausgang)

Für mich ist das Zeichen eines guten Buches, wenn ich es mehrfach hören/lesen würde. Das ist hier leider nicht der Fall. Dafür ist es zu langatmig und mit zu geringem Spannungsbogen.
Der Sprecher hatte eine etwas zu sonore Stimme für meine Begriffe. Er hat zudem beim Lesen offenbar Kaugummi gekaut, was ich als störend empfunden habe.
Seine verschiedenen Akzente haben dafür gut gepasst und waren überzeugend, zumal er offenbar kein Schotte ist. Kein Schotte würde den Namen einer Hebrideninsel falsch aussprechen!

Kann man hören, aber sicher nur ein Mal

First of all, this is not a thriller, this is a character driven crime story, that is dragging a lot. Karen Pirie (the woman on the cover) is a totally random character. The whole story focuses on four friends and their relation, which would be fine, if it wasn’t advertised .... again ... as a thriller. After one third you can guess the culprit very easily. The narrator was good, but he could not save the experience.

Diese Geschichte könnte man auf 1/3 kürzen. Ich finde sie zu langatmig erzählt, sehr viele unnötige, langweilige Dialoge, die das Ganze endlos hinziehen. Der Plot ist nicht interessant genug, dass man dem Buch soviel Zeit widmen müsste.
