The Deliverer has returned, but who is he?

Arlen Bales, formerly of the small hamlet of Tibbet’s Brook, learnt harsh lessons about life as he grew up in a world where hungry demons stalk the night and humanity is trapped by its own fear. He chose a different path; chose to fight inherited apathy and the corelings, and eventually he became the Painted Man, a reluctant saviour.

But the figure emerging from the desert, calling himself the Deliverer, is not Arlen. He is a friend and betrayer, and though he carries the spear from the Deliverer’s tomb, he also heads a vast army intent on a holy war against the demon plague… and anyone else who stands in his way.

Eine fesselnde Geschichte in der die Handlungen des ersten Teils fortgeführt und nochmals fesselnder und packender erzählt werden. Ich freue mich schon auf Teil drei.
Colin Mace erzählt die Story intensiv und gibt jeder Person einen eigenen Charakter.

this book leaves all the small weaknesses of the first one behind and deepens the story by introducing some amazing new povs and showing us the motivations and thoughts of unexpected characters. The switching of perspectives during fight scenes adds an immersion to them that really makes the some of the best i've ever read/listened to. In the end of the first book I was afraid that the storyline of the painted man himself would suffer from him getting to powerful and get boring or like in myke coles books we would only see him trough the eyes of others once in a while because the author was developing his character to fast to give him new challenges in the next book (i'm still angry about that). But Peter V Brett did none of these things, he managed to keep the tension up and even rising during this book and he let me keep the most interesting character i've had the pleasure to get to know in quite some time. Excuse me for this long review, i'm still somewhat amped by just finishing this book and it's promising ending and right after hitting the submit-button i'll get the next part of this series.

Der Sprecher ist sehr gut, könnte aber längere Pausen machen wenn er zwischen den Charakteren wechselt. Wenn man das Buch nicht kennt, könnte es sehr verwirren das er ohne Großen Unterschied zwischen den Absätzen springt

The characters are amazing. The background story is deep and mysterious. I would love to see artworks of the demons, all the characters and the glyphs they use. Just amazing!!

ein grosser hörspass! die Geschichte ist spannend und mitreißend und der sprecher verleiht den Charakteren tolle stimmen! er macht sogar den Dialektwechsel von Arlen greifbar. konnte kaum aufhören zu hören

Super spannende einzigartige Geschichte. Der Autor fesselt alle Leser in seiner einzigartigen und fantasiereichen Welt. Abseits vom üblichen Zwergen, Orks und Elfen Getue Fantasy wie ich sie liebe.
