Brilliante Fortsetzung der Lockwood-Saga. Spannend, wohlig-gruselig, gleichzeitig amüsant und voller Sprachwitz. Stroud ist ein genialer Geschichtenerzähler. Ich freue mich jetzt schon auf die Fortsetzung!!! Und die Sprecherin (auf englisch) hat einen bewundernswerten Job gemacht - Respekt! Ich hoffe, sie spricht auch die Fortsetzung(en)!

Welchen drei Worte würden für Sie The Creeping Shadow treffend charakterisieren?

Stroud: Creeping Shadow
Im vierten Band von Lockwood & Co. (deutsch Das Flammende Phantom) kommt Lucy als freie Mitarbeiterin und Klientin wieder zurück in die Agentur. Die Geschichte um Creeping Shadow ist so komplex und verschachtelt, dass sie sogar für zwei getrennte Bände gereicht hätte. Sie ist spannend und unterhaltsam. Die Schluss-Sequenz gibt die Richtung für mindestens zwei folgende Teile vor. Dann könnte Stroud elegant „den ganzen Spuk“ in London zu einem finalen Ende bringen. Meine Vision ist: Lucy könnte dann ein Studium machen und später mit Lockwood die Artefakte aus dem Zimmer der Schwester wieder in die Herkunftsländer zurückbringen.
Die englische Lesung ist gut verständlich. Emily Bevan trifft recht gut den Ton, den ich mir vor allem für Lucy vorstelle.

Das Buch steht seinen Vorgängern in nichts nach. Die Erzählung ist von der ersten bis zur letzten Minute spannend und hervorragend gelesen.

I love the found family they are by the end of the book. This part is especially about rebuilding friendships and character development and I'm absolutely hete for it. I can't wait to listen to book 5. The ending really makes you wish for more.
Side note: The skull is one of my favorite characters.
