Cover misrepresents content, looks like a dark cozy, instead it’s full on melancholy memories, trauma & sadness, & mostly intelligent introspection, story drags at times, then suddenly jerks into bloody murder. Heroine a bit vapid, possibly harking back to days of corseted gals.

I liked the narrator, the characters etc. However, the story was quite predictable and the red herings rather obvious, which made it less enjoyable for me.

A lonely country estate, a dead woman‘s curious last will and some very greedy siblings and cousins. Everyone has to follow the rules over the twelve days of Christmas. This novel contains a lot of riddles, a fair amount murders and a very interesting protagonist. Whereas the novel was rather entertaining, I knew very soon, who would be the culprit.

Becsuse, I knew , who the murderer was as soon as he appeared in the story. He was much to smooth. There were too many murders and everything was very sad. Also, very little was comprehensible or actually possible.
