Viel Liebe in brutalem Umfeld von Folterspezialisten, CIA-Agenten etc.. Man will auf jeden Fall erfahren, wie es ausgeht. Manche Wendung ist bewusst überraschend gestaltet.

Interessante Story mit einigen Längen

Ich persönlich liebe Ellen Archer als Vorleserin! The Chemist erzählt eine spannende Geschichte mit sympathischen Charakteren. Allerdings schwächelt die Story gerade im mittleren Teil etwas; sie kam mir langatmig vor. Die Romantik hätte ich nicht erwartet und passt erstaunlich gut in das Buch, auch wenn es hier mehr Spannung hätte geben können. Dennoch kann ich dieses Hörbuch sehr empfehlen! Ich finde die Story originell und überwiegend interessant.

I loved the story, very gripping! Has everything! It has a bit of everything. Though one might have to get used to the speaker, since I think she has a certain urgency in her voice and I feel like this might not be for everyone . But honestly, I feel like it really fits the character so nicely and transports the right vibes. So I think the speaker as well did a great job!

I've read her other books and really loved them. This one is a little different. We still experience the story from the viewpoint of the protagonist following her thoughts like in the other books. But this book isn't a lovestory (although that is happening too) it's a spystory with lots of action.
A gripping story that's even more enjoyable the second time around.
And it should definetly shut those up who have criticized Stefenie Mayer for her old fashioned gender roles. If this protagonist isn't a strong woman, I don't know who is.
Unfortunately the book feels like it was written in a hurry and she didn't take the time to work out some of the kinks. But that doesn't diminish the entertainment. If you don't expect a literary masterpiece you'll get to enjoy a really good story.
