Über diesen Titel
The man who broke the world has risen from the pages of history… and Keiran is the only one who can stop him.
With the awakening of the lich lord Ammun Nescect, Keiran must contend with his greatest challenge yet. His former apprentice, an archmage in his own right, stands between Keiran and his goals of tearing down the tower rooted in the world core itself.
While Ammun remains trapped, unable to leave the world’s one and only source of mana, Keiran prepares for the battle. But he isn’t the only one who’s been preparing, and if Ammun’s machinations come to fruition, nowhere will be safe from the lich’s reach.
Keiran must act quickly, for he knows that if Ammun frees himself from his prison, the outcome of their next meeting has inevitable, and fatal, implications for him.
Can he regain enough of his lost power to face an immortal lich in open battle?
©2024 D.E. Sherman (P)2025 Royal Guard Publishing LLCBut personally this book is a little bit strange in the series.
First, introducing a character that is far beyond the power ranking of the mc, plus the he has far more resources than him.
A lot of scenes seemed stupid regarding the motivations of the characters. A lot of convoluted plans that seemed to be so convenient flawed that the mc can manage them.
Also, in the magic system it seemed that especially the spying magic was all over the place. It was essentially impossible to gauge what is possible and what is not and sometimes it seemed that in one chapter one thing was possible but in the other it was not. This gets frustrating at some point.
As as side not, this seems like the book in the series that should show the losses and shortcomings of the mc but does it in a very frustrating way. Especially since the book likes to showcase the shortcomings of the mc in the magical field but ignores his character besides htat completely. And that shortcomings are expected to be temporary anyway since they mostly boil down to lack of resources and time.
Somewhat all over the place
