Lovely Listening

This book was just what I needed... funny, since the main character's passion in life is finding the right book for the right person. This story is simple, heartwarming and has lovely descriptions of the Scottish highlands. Excellent narrator!

Did not enjoy it

I did not enjoy this book for about 90% of it. The main character is so infuriatingly naive it borders on stupid, an effect that is exaggerated by the voice she's given, which sounds like an eight-year-old girl. The words "utterly" and "glorious" are overused. The descriptions of the countryside and the life there are romanticised to the extreme. And the story is just plain unrealistic.
I really don't mind chic lit, but this is just taking it too far. I couldn't return it so I finished it but I was glad when it was finally over (although the last hour or so is a little less infuriating and made me give it 2 stars instead of one).

Verschwendete Zeit und rausgeschmissenes Geld

Langatmig und ziellos. Romantisierte Darstellung des Landlebens. Voller Stereotypen, v.a. die Protagonistin lässt Feministinnen kochen. Das ist eine nicht sonderlich kreative Geschichte, prä-pubertär.

Just lovely

I came to this audiobook, because I was looking for another one narrated by Lucy Price Lewis, who does here also a lovely job. I love listening to her voice. But the story was also a very nice surprise, as I most recently visited the highlands and completely fell in love with the scenery and these incredibly friendly people. When I left there, I felt heartbroken, as if I am leaving a lover.

The description of how Nina felt in the Highland and the caring people fitted my experience. I loved the story -mostly, except for the episode with Kate- and I wished there was a Nina, who would tell me, which books to read. It's so rare these days, that I get completely swallowed by a book, as I so often did as a kid .

But I listened to this audiobook in one day and had a very lovely time.

Tolles Hörbuch

Die Stimme der Sprecherin ist äußerst angenehm. Auch versteht sie es, bedeutsam zu lesen.
Die Geschichte ist unterhaltsam und kurzweilig.

Das Hörbuch hat großen Spaß gemacht,vor allem der Schottische Akzent.

First I heard the Bookshop on the Shore and then I was excited to find out that there was another Story related to...I would love to hear more!

Sweet story, but a pity that books were made up

It's wonderfully read! A very sweet story, very similar to the 'Little bakery' storyline, which is ok. What makes this book special is the books described, so I found it really a pity that many titles were made up.

Alles da wie immer. Eine schöne Geschichte,nicht ganz so packend wie Cup Cake Cafe und Beach Street Bakery aber dennoch kurzweilig.
Super gelesen von Lucy Prüfe Lewis,man fühlt sich sofort als wäre man in Großbritannien.

Beautiful story, good speaker and just a feel-good audiobook that I really enjoyed listening to.
