Über diesen Titel
On a distant mining colony, Samantha Weaver is in line for a promotion, and is working hard to have hope for the future.
She came to this desolate place to give her sickly brother Aiden a better life, but is it really better? Sometimes she wonders how best to help him, and if they made the right decision.
Their mundane existence is blown apart from the moment the monstrous creatures breach the mines. The colony descends into chaos. All the workers are trapped, abandoned by the very administrators who once drove them to exhaustion.
Together, Sam and Aiden must fight their way through blood-stained hallways, where every shadow hides claws and every move could be their last.
The walls are breached. The colony is lost. Survival is all that's left.
When the legendary Starborn warriors arrive, the survivors dare to hope. But these newcomers are not intent on rescue. Whatever they came for—it’s worth more than every survivor begging for salvation.
From acclaimed artist and creator Jazza (Josiah) Brooks comes a relentless, pulse-pounding story of monsters, mystery, and the devastating price of protecting the ones you love.

Had high expectations and they were more than met

My only problem with the story is the dialogue sometimes feels a bit robotic, as some characters bluntly blurt out what their main stick is from time to time in non interesting ways, wich puts a small stain on what is otherwise sharp dialogue. The interlides try to cover so much ground in the span of a chapter so they didnt get enough time to tell their stories. I think they'd have been better served as short parable like stories, leaving the details to be assumed rather than rushed through.
The story superficially resembles its inspirations like Warhammer 40k with the common elements youd have in a similar kind of story. However the the Tone and world building are distinct in the way they manages to balance both the nihilistic and oppressive parts with optimism.
It should also go without saying that the polish and quality of this book wouldn’t make me think it’s the author’s first, if he hadn’t repeated that fact himself across multiple mediums. i find thar bit of information very inspiring
Story is sharp and focused. oppressive but optimistic setting.

The reader Helen Keeley is amazing. With Jazza Brooks I sometimes struggled to understand him, but I’m not a native English speaker.
I loved the story
