Two heirs, one claim: A hilarious clash of cultures in Mark Twain's The American Claimant.
Meet Colonel Mulberry Sellers, a young and eccentric American whose mind constantly churns with ambitious, albeit often unrealistic, schemes to climb the social ladder and amass a fortune.
However, fate takes an intriguing turn when news of his relative Simon Lathers' passing reaches him. Convinced of his newfound entitlement, Colonel Sellers believes he is now the rightful heir to the prestigious title and estate of the earl of Rossmore in England.
Yet, his dreams of grandeur encounter a formidable challenge when he discovers that an Englishman by the name of Lord Berkeley is also laying claim to the same title and estate. Unwilling to cede his perceived birthright, Colonel Sellers stands firm in defense of his "rights", resulting in a comedic clash of cultures and identities that promises to captivate and amuse.
Ambition, aristocracy, and absurdity collide in this satirical masterpiece.
Step into the captivating world of Mark Twain's The American Claimant, an unforgettable comedy full of unexpected twists and turns that will keep listeners totally hooked.
