As the two strangers struggle to reach civilization, they must compromise and learn to trust each other, a task that may be nearly as difficult as the journey itself.

Steffi is a dedicated librarian from Washington State, who finally has saved up enough money and courage to make her dream come true by traveling to Europe with her friends from the mountain climber club.
Hudson is a world-known war reporting journalist from NYC, just having received an important media reward. She and her photographer friend Joe want to spend some off-time before being send to another explosive area around the world. They never would have thought, this time the catastrophe would find them, when an avalanche derails their sightseeing train in a nearly impossible to reach terrain. The slight attraction Hudson & Steffi have felt before turns into deep trust in the face of all the chaos now. They fight hard for their and their friends' survival and their growing love.
Coleen Marlo does a brilliant job narrating this intense story. She is giving the MC's and all sidecharacters their own personal voices. I love her interpetation of Steffi's honest awe of the sights, her happiness and also being a calm level-headed person thinking things through before acting. Ms Marlo also gives voice to the claustrophobic, supressed panic of the survivers, that made me shiver and wrap my warm blanket around tighter.
Kim Baldwin has created another great story of two amazing women with stunning emotional and action scenes .But I am pretty sure most Europeans are able to speak English, even a little. In Germany it is compulsory to take a First Aid course before getting the driver's licence. So I am hard pressed forgiving her for making the other survivers of this multinational group look rather naiiv and language tight, and only her heroinesses looking good and acting sensible. Nevertheless one wicked Audio Book I found so hard to press the stop button.
