Chile Charlie was enjoying his newly purchased two-acre ranch and the new neighbors. But he was surprised when his old friend, Dolly Sweet Thompson, arrived unannounced. Charlie thought he knew why. However, he was not sure he liked the intrusion. Nevertheless, that feeling would fade.
The murder of a prominent attorney, a New Mexico State Senator, prompted Charlie and Dolly to determine if there was a connection between the Las Cruces Bowling Alley Massacre that happened 32 years ago and the recent event.
The story is filled with unusual characters like Sam, the Horsewoman, Gus, Wilbur, Alex, and Chief Fred Garcia, all of whom warned Charlie and
Dolly not to get involved. The investigative adventure took them through local newspapers, police offices, and eating places.
