Loved the first book, love the mysterious storyline, love the spice (and there is a lot, like damn Rina 😅) but the male character is even more toxic than in the first book, actually straight up abusive, which I couldn’t see past in some scenes. Narrators are great as usual with Rina Kent though!

Levi’s story was great, even though some of his character traits were more than questionable as well. Aiden however is a psycho. Simple as that. Somewhere in the middle I was sure Elsa will end up in a mental ward - or dead. His actions are not just sadistic but a downright criminal act. Yet I still read it so what does this say about me? And what does it say about Elsa, the heroine? What about girls and women in real life reading this? Does this reflect a modern live story? Is this what love is supposed to look like? Feel like? I think in this I’d rather pass.

Towards the end there is a sentence that got stuck with me. „His unconditional acceptance“ - I suppose that’s why I kept on reading. Even with all his faults, him sticking around is a novelty.

So go, read it. Think about it

It was a lot and I didn’t see anything coming…
I’m super intrigued to see how everything is gonna come together in the next book.
