This is the first book in a series in which Carsen Taite approaches a different side of law enforcement work. The story is a crime thriller with lots of action and a slightly romantic subplot. Luca ends up in a web of lies and deception when she agrees to help out a friend which isn’t helped when the new attorney in town tempts her with a better job offer and maybe more. The sudden attraction in the air leaves Luca seemingly torn between her sometimes lover Jess and the new attorney in town Ronnie. (This is a crime thriller not a romance)
