Their task proves daunting, though, as the townspeople have their own long-buried secrets and sins that they want to keep hidden - even if it means allowing the sacrifice of an innocent woman.

except, as always, with the thought that it has too much 21st century in it. e.g. when the Christian knights muse how the heathens maybe right in their way of praying to the old gods and just leave them.
