The book gives a broad overview over the history of the island of Sicily, from Greeks and Carthaginians, over Roman and Norman rule all the way to the modern age. And while the subject of the book itself is interesting, it remains, except for the last third, very shallow. That is a shame, because I liked the voice of the narrator, but the content itself is now worth more than 3 points in my opinion.

Interesting, but in the end mediocre.
