Über diesen Titel

We vowed to escape together. I broke that promise. Now the men I loved just might break me.

There were six of us. Caged, turned into monsters, and tormented with brutal tests of our horrific emerging abilities.

We had only each other to count on... until our escape attempt ended with one dead, the others recaptured, and me dragged away into a different nightmare.

Now I've finally fought my way back to rescue them. Except the men I set free are hardened, beastly versions of the devoted boys I remember.

They see me as a traitor and a murderer—but they refuse to let me go now that they have me back.

They have no idea that the greatest threat may be the new darkness that’s woken up inside me.

I don’t know how to control it. And if these men break me, I could destroy us all.

*Shattered Vow is the first in a thrilling urban fantasy series for those who love savagely possessive men and fierce heroines who'll fight for what's theirs.*

Perfect for fans of morally grey possessive men, tough heroines, friends to enemies to lovers romance with plenty of groveling, forced proximity, dark supernatural powers, bond marks, found family, and all the plot twists.

I'm all in for the prisoner-experiment setup , but so many things were just not explained or had supper odd reasoning... how was it that they were forced to go on missions against their will? Was the Arena an underground fighting pit? Nobody noticed her claws or clear inhuman strength in the Arena? HOW and WHY did they convince themselves hiding in a campus after escaping the lab/prison was a good idea? How could "sheltered lab rats" find a hacker so quickly? Or how could one of said lab rats, with little exposure to the real world, be their group assigned "tech guy" and actually do a good job?
Did I miss the logic behind those? I just think it made no sense.

The physical appearance of the characters are barely described. Maybe it was mentioned at the beginning and I missed it because I'm not used to MMMMF tropes and totally could not remember name plus appearance from one single description at the start. My suggestion for you: don't be naive like me thinking the author would repeat hair color or eye color a few times, and write it down the moment it pops up to check later.

Now enough of ranting. The author actually has interesting ideas throughout the book, there's lots of action, and the FMC is not helpless. I quite liked how the dynamic between the characters was arranged/developed, and the time it took for certain things to happen. It was also not an orgy with them all from page 2 (quiiiite the contrary!), which I could only appreciate! It gave me enough time to actually feel some interest towards the characters.

Also, the narrators did a great job impersonating the characters and their emotions.

I'm trying my best to overlook the oddities in the plot, because I'm actually curious to see what happens next.

Some weird bits, but quite interesting
