Perfect combination for my taste, history and romance.. I love both. Even though a catastrophy hits a bit close to home in times of Lockdown... Jae could become my favorite author... As always a surprise to me she actually lives in Germany, same as me.

Very beautiful story, capturing your mind in an instant and don’t let go until the last sentence. Samantha Cook is reading this novel with a wonderful voice and let you feel every character through her different stile of voices. The characters of Kate & Guiliana and Lucy are gorgeous. Definitely one of my favourites that I will hear a lot of times!

Was noch wissenswert ist, dass die Sprecherin sehr gutes und deutliches Englisch spricht. Gut verständlich.

Historie und Romantik

I am a big fan of Jaes novels but this one has to be my favorite sofar! not just bc of the romance, but also because of all the details and historical insight to 1906 San Francisco. Not just the protagonisten, but also the world and socitiety they live is is really interessting! There are a few scenes that are on the rougher side, but the story basically unfolds among a massive earthquake/fires/crisis. even if this book occasionally gave me unexspected chills, I think the author did a good job my not conpletly sugar coating the seriousness of the crisis. All in all a very good novelty!
The voice actor did a great job of portraying the different characters and has a very pleasant voice! ***** for both! :)

Not "just" a love story!

I already have read the book two times and now also listend to the audio book. It is still fantastic. Although to know the story already, the audiobook or better the narrator makes it come alive. You nearly can smell the smoke and feel the pain and emotion. Great story by Jae and fantastic work by Ms Cook. thanks a lot.
