Will Lila’s dreams shape her destiny—or plunge her world into darkness?

As the bold daughter of the Raider leader, Lila yearns to transform her people’s plundering ways into something noble. Her dream? To unite the Raiders with dragons as mercenaries defending merchant fleets and kingdoms. But fate has other plans.

When Lila bonds with a wild, untamable dragon, their partnership sets her on a path of danger and discovery. A desperate plea from the West Witches sends Lila and Danu, a novice magician, to the Isle of Sebol to uncover a threat looming over the Western Isles. What they find could spell doom for all.

To stop the growing darkness, Lila must forge unlikely alliances—including with the dragon riders of Torvald, sworn enemies of her people. As rivalries flare, Lila faces her ultimate test: embracing her destiny to save her friends, her people, and the dragons she has come to love.

ok generally amazing series, loved it. more than a bit annoyed at the "must have a main guy" and "must marry the guy" part; as well as the guy always putting his conception of morality over the main character, even endangering her multiple times, because he thinks it's the right thing to do. this makes the being happily married for the rest of their lives part of the ending, which is otherwise quite nice, feel so much shittier. there was zero romantic or sexual vibes between them through all of the book, but still they have to get married...

amazing, but the ending

I enjoyed this Story a lot. In my opinion the characters' growth is subtle and organic. The concluding ending was well done, all strings find their way into a knot.

Character arcs, action and a nice ending
