Über diesen Titel

Emily is a teenage girl pulled from our world into a world of magic and mystery by a necromancer who intends to sacrifice her to the dark gods. Rescued in the nick of time by an enigmatic sorcerer, she discovers that she possesses magical powers and must go to Whitehall School to learn how to master them. There, she learns that the locals believe she is a "Child of Destiny" - someone whose choices might save or damn their world, a title that earns her both friends and enemies.

Mich hat es sehr gefreut, dass hier mal eine andere Art von Magieschule beschrieben wird. Sowohl Story als auch Hauptcharakter sind sehr gut beschrieben und man kann sich kaum von dem Buch loslösen.
Auch die nachfolgenden Teile sind sehr gut (bin noch nicht ganz durch).
Wer Fantasy/Magie und eine Welt auf Mittelalterbasis mag, ist hier richtig.

If you like well structured magic systems, a gripping story arc. This book is for you. Here you have an easy to follow plot, likeable charachters and an interesting worldbuilding. It has the right amount of set up and delivery while still puting the pieces in place for the next books in the series.

Tavia Gilbert deliverers an awesome performance, her natural voice is already nice to listen to and the changes for the different charachters are smooth and natural.

Very fun experience!
