There is something about the writing that annoys me. I'm fine with the "Everyone underestimate me" trope, but the the fact that the guy does something ie reads a lot, then he gets a new book and they question if it is going to read it. This continues throughout the story. I just keep getting pulled out of immersion by things like this. The guy demonstrated he can do X and then everyone questions if he can do X again and again and again and then with the addition of Y.
It repeats and repeats... Then it settles for a while and just when settling back into the story is possible, it happens again.
