First and foremost it is always a pleasure to listen to Richard Dawkins narrating himself together with Lala Ward. Both interchangeably narrate different sections of the book, which allows the listener to easily keep track of the different paragraphs and sections, which are well structured. The audiobook impressively describes the evolutionary explosion of life from the first cell to the 3 billion species, or 300 million exist today. The scientific findings and explanations are so compelling, that not a single minute is boring and a listener simply wants to learn more and more, about how life began and evolved to today. Highly recommended!

I am a bit disappointed in this but really dont care as it was included in prime.
So whats the matter? I enjoyed The Selfish Gene and the Blind Watchmaker very much and liked the way RD/LW brought the topic to the listener. I can highly recommend these books/audios. But the topic doesnt change, its always about Darwinism, Natural Selection and Evolution.
Having quit after 30 minutes of RooE out of repetition-based boredom, i see this as a dumbed down version of the two beforementioned books. The title "science master series" is a bit of an overstatement for this.

TDLR: If you read The Seflish Gene and/or The Blind Watchmaker, don´t bother with this. It will bore you. Richard and Lalla are a pleasure to listen to anytime!
